Aurel is its own world. It begins with a voice that feels trapped, moves into a beat, and opens into virtuosic piano. Given time, it carries the listener from one place to another.
A character struggles through water before escaping a chaotic situation. Gradually, the fear gives way to exhilaration, and the act of running away becomes unexpectedly joyful.
Nebuú was originally titled “The Story of King Nebuú.” The track tells the life story of a fictional character who lives in my imagination. I later reshaped the ending into a more pop influenced experience, giving listeners a familiar and relatable way back from his world.
